What happens when the coolest bike shop east of the Mississippi River collaborates with the coolest artist on the west of the Mississippi River? In this case, the most kaleidoscopic handmade gravel bike to ever exist.
We love custom painted bikes at Latting Speed Shop. As painters ourselves, we are always looking for eye-catching colorways that make us stop in our tracks. With all the custom paint offerings on the market today, it can make your head spin. We acquired this ABLE frameset directly from Allied Cycle Works in 2021 as a raw unpainted frame. As we waited for the right inspiration of what color to paint it, we came across the phenomenal work of Curtis Bullock, better known on Instagram as Save the Postal Service. Curtis has an eye for color and pattern, there's no disputing the fact. His mixed media art and paint work blew us away.
When Curtis agreed to work his magic on our Allied ABLE, we knew we were in for something great. Most certainly - he delivered. The frame spent a few weeks with Curtis getting it's makeover in Portland, OR, and after being returned to us, we sealed in his paint work with a polished high-impact clear coat to be sure that while looking beautiful, it will be able to handle anything that it may encounter while shredding off-road adventures.
We completed the build with some of our favorite components, and it's sure to be ready for any gravel race or multi-day backwoods adventure.
